Though I have taken a broad range of classes, my focus has largely remained on Psychology and Education. My coursework in psychology has helped me to understand the processes behind learning, while in my Education courses I learned about teaching. Understanding student learning from both the neurological perspective and the logistical perspective has been quite valuable for me. Additionally, many of my classes have examined the self from various perspectives and fields of study (sociology, philosophy, and psychology). I am particularly interested in the ways that an individual’s perspective is formed, based on the myriad factors present in the individual’s life. My courses in Social Psychology, Child Development, Gender and Education: Sociology, and Self in Society: Sociology have all taught me valuable lessons regarding the complex formation of personal perspective.
