Background

INTRODUCTION

This section provides a brief overview of my background, including my resume, transcript, and the various influences in my life. My life experiences as well as my work experiences in schools and my coursework throughout college have all played a significant role in shaping my perspective on life as well as my philosophy of education. Though my experiences are vast and varied, I find that there are two constant themes throughout my life: (1) the emphasis on education and (2) caring for children. More specifically, my family has placed a great deal of importance on my education, and has made a strong effort to ensure I am receiving the best education available to me. Therefore, I always enjoyed school and invested myself a great deal in my classwork. Beyond that, I have cared for my large family for as long as I can remember. As the oldest cousin of 15, I have always enjoyed caring for my cousins, and believe that this has contributed a great deal to my current desire to work in elementary education.
