POINT OF ORIGIN OF SHISHBARAK/CHUCHVARA

The point of origin for the shishbarak and the chuchvara is believed to be pre-Islamic, or Ancient Persia. According to some estimates, this dumpling, the joshparag, dates back to at least the tenth century. There is a recipe for shushbarak in the fifteenth-century Damascene cookbook, Kitab al-tibakha.
