Gender of Makers
Today, women are typically the makers of khinkali (Kuchukhidze). However, at one time in the Georgian mountains, an entire village would help to make khinkali in large quantities (Petrosian & Underwood). The women would make the dough and fold the dumplings, while the men would stoke the fire used for cooking (Petrosian & Underwood).
