Wonton shape varies in form and complexity, ranging from the basic triangle fold to more complicated shapes such as “flower bud” and “nurse’s cap” (Nguyen, 66). All methods involve the preliminary steps of placing a small portion of filler on the wrapper, lightly moistening the edges, and folding the wrapper over the filler to seal around the edges. From the basic triangle shape, one may roll the dumpling and fold the edges inward to create the flower bud. To create a nurse’s cap, one initially folds the dumpling into a rectangle and simply joins the bottom two corners (Asian Dumpling Tips).
