Instagram as "Outsider-Folk" Art
Photos posted on Instagram are a very contemporary form of Adirondack Art in terms of their sharing mechanism, however they also exhibit aspects of folk art as well. This is a great example of the insider/outsider division as most of the Instagram photos are posted by young people visiting the park and using the hashtag #adirondacks. It is interesting to see the photos people choose to post as the #adirondacks. What represents the Adirondacks to them?
